Terrence Higgins Trust is the UK’s largest HIV and sexual health charity with centres across England, Scotland and Wales. We provide information and advice about HIV and sexual health and offer a range of services including sexual health checks, counselling and support groups. We campaign for a world where people with HIV live healthy lives, free from prejudice and discrimination, and we promote good sexual health as a right and reality for all.
We tailor our campaigns and services in order to be most effective for specific groups, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) and Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities. We work with some of the most marginalised people in the UK, including refugees with HIV and vulnerable, socially excluded young people, offering mentoring and education schemes to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
In addition to over 300 staff, our work is supported by over 1000 volunteers each year. Our services are used by around 100,000 people each year.
We are interested in being involved with the Grundtvig programme as it will allow us to share best practice and knowledge from a range of sexual health organisations around Europe. As a progressive and forward thinking organisation, we welcome all opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our services and share ideas on how to improve sexual health.
